“Lanto's Lantern” with Suzanna Axisa

If you’re looking for some good sound advice from the experts Lanto’s Lantern has the perfect one for you. Host, Suzanna Axisa, shines a light on the best new mind, body spirit literature available, written by some of the most highly respected practitioners. Many of the books reviewed become award winners and authors generously share their work and knowledge to help you find just what you’re looking for to help you reach your true potential, whether it be in your business or private life.

In addition to the literature, we also take a look at some of the musicians and composers who are at the cutting edge of meditation, healing and relaxation music, as well as some of the most helpful websites in this field, which offer free self-development resources. Whoever said “the best things in life are free” couldn’t have put it better!

If you can’t make the live programme why not download it from the CTR archives or subscribe to it for your iPod of other MP3 player to listen on the go.

UPCOMING SHOWS

September 3rd
My guest today is happiness expert, James Baird, co-author of Happiness Genes, unlock the positive potential hidden in your DNA. His 20+ year study of happiness, has enabled Baird – an inventor-engineer, author and researcher – to clearly and simply outline the most recent studies into how changing our beliefs and behaviour has a positive effect on our body's ability to regenerate itself. He provides convincing evidence of our genetic spirituality and the nature of its rewarding happiness. Then shows us how we can dissolve the thoughts that hinder our spiritual expression by using epigenetic methods that suppress such negative subconscious thinking.

In his introduction to this book, Bruce Lipton likens the human body to a community of 50 trillion co-operating cells in a petri dish: all responding to the wishes of our mind and spirit. But, in cultures where we are taught that money rules and that everything of any worth must come with a price tag, our cells' ability to cooperate with us fully is severely limited, because our fears around money keep the cells stuck in fight or flight mode, diverting them from their ability to co-create with us a happy, fulfilled life.

Baird and his co-author, Laurie Nadel, address this by means of their Happiness Assets Inventory. They encourage you to take a look at whatever really has value in your life, so that you can cherish it. With no price tag to worry about, your thoughts are immune from the fears created by a money-fixated culture.

If you think your cells are too often stuck in the fight or flight mode, then why not join us and hear how easy it is to set them free from the money merry-go-round!

September 17th

My guest today is Kimerer LaMothe, author of What a Body Knows, finding wisdom in desire. Nieztsche said that only thoughts reached by walking have value, and Kimerer, award-winning author, philosopher, dancer and ex_Brown and Harvard teacher – has written a book that celebrates the wisdom buried deep within our bodies, but we usually need to move to find and hear it.

Her premise is that there is a wisdom in desire. A wisdom guiding us to move in ways that align our pleasure, health, well-being. A wisdom that, if we listen to it, leads us to expressing our fullest potential, but in a culture where we have been trained, almost since birth, to become mind over body, this seems as difficult an enterprise as scaling the heights of Everest for most of us. Reading Kimerer's book we understand that it really needn't be that difficult.

So, if you feel that, no matter what you do, you don't seem to be able to reach your potential, or even make headway, the why not join us to hear her thought-provoking take on how listening and honouring our desires for food, sex and spirit can help us shift our experience of these desires so that we can learn to move with, rather than against, the wisdom of these desires.

Novenber 5th

Today's guest is Jonette Crowley, author of The Eagle & the Condor, a true story of an unexpected journey and channel for White Eagle.

If you ever needed proof that you are so much more than you imagine then why not join us to hear Jonette's story of a spiritual initiation. In Peru, she discovers her twin flame and with the help of their spirit guides and her mystical visions, she is able to bring ancient knowledge and spiritual power to light. As she retells her story of this incredible adventure she discusses Native American and Incan myths as well as the legends of the lost continent of Lemuria. Our discussion promises to be a magical mystery tour of what happened to someone who just followed their intuition. It might be just what you need to prompt you to do the same thing!
